Adobe Creative Jam
I was the design lead for one of the Adobe Creative Jams. I worked with 2 other designers to create an app over the course of a week. The challenge was to create an app to aid people’s communities in a humanitarian, ecological, or political way. We chose to create an app that would help immigrants find resources in their new surroundings, especially those people + businesses that are willing to partner and make safe spaces for immigrants.
User’s Needs Assessment
When a person signs up for the app, they were able to make selections for what fit their needs the most from a list of options. When they selected those, we were able to create a customized Home page where they could see the businesses and events near them that they may be interested in.
Location was used in the maps app only and there was clear messaging to make sure that the user knew they were safe using the app.
Maps + Business Information
If one of the businesses was selected from the home page, it would show up on the map with links below to show more information. When clicking on about, information would come up about the business including upcoming events and partnership with .belong and other things this family may need access to.
For this effort, we placed in the top five and I presented the work to the final team of judges from Corporate America companies as well as Adobe.
